On Sunday night, March 1, 2001, a group of people felt God calling them to start a new work in Hopkins County Kentucky. Led by Bro Chuck Evans, we had our first meeting in a vacant office building on Center Street. With nothing but a love of God and a willingness to seek and follow His leadership, we charted a course for a new church. We began this journey without a building, pews, songbooks or many of the things normally needed to begin a church. We called our church Faith because without faith in God and His provisions this church could never have become a reality.
We located a small church building on Anton Road in Madisonville. We cleaned and remodeled the building and began having services. The Lord began to send one blessing and miracle after another and moved in ways to numerous to tell. He provided all the necessities that we lacked when we first began.
After about three years, the congregation was told that the church building was going to be sold in order to begin construction on a road project in the area. Unsure of what the future held for us, our Pastor urged us to pray for God’s guidance in our search for the right property.
God provided for all our needs and we began construction on our new Church a short time later. Our first Sunday of worship in the new church was January 11, 2003. In the years since Faith Baptist Church started God has done great and mighty things. We have seen souls saved and lives changed, and we are trusting God to continue to use Faith Missionary Baptist Church to bring revival to this area.
